PROFILE OF THE INSTITUTION
Vinesthy Catering Institute was established by Mrs. Esther Akosua Setsoafia on the 14th November, 1992, in
Burma Villas, Burma Camp in a Garage. The objective of setting up the school was to train young women in
practical cookery for their kitchen. It was reformed to equip and train young women in hospitality industry. Now
the institution train and develop the youth to be competent for the hospitality industry and also to become
entrepreneurs and establish businesses to employ the youth in Ghana.
The school started with 3 students. They studied successfully and graduated in the year 1993. The graduation
was very memorable as it was the institute’s first graduation. The school was managed for a period of seven
years and attained its accreditation from NVTI in the year 2000.
In 2003, the institute attained accreditation from the Ghana Education Service to unite intermediate 812/1 and
advance 812/2 programmed in Cookery for the catering industry in October 2003.
The institute operated for nearly eight years in Burma Villas in Burma Camp before moving to its permanent
location at Spintex Road, near Kasapreko Company Limited in year 1999.
With 24 years of establishment, Vinesthy Catering Institute had trained over 3,855 students in Basic Catering
and Cake Decoration, 483 students in Advance catering for patrons from Ghana and students of other countries
who had resided in Ghana.
Currently the Vinesthy Catering Institute is 25 years old.
Ever since in 1993 the institution has graduated students in the following courses, the NVTI proficiency (1 and 2
NVTI certificate, GES Certificate 2, GES Advance Practical Cookery Courses, and short basic cookery courses and
cake decoration and sugar craft.
For student in Vinesthy Catering Institute they are self-reliant and versatile in their vocation. We have forcefully
embraced a programme of entrepreneurial skill training.
This institute is run in the model of a Christian school to instill some moral values and virtues into the students.
The institution engages students in other curricular activities like Cultural Dance, Good Grooming, and Book
Keeping etc.
Vineshty Catering Institute provide services externally at different functions like weddings, funerals etc.
